REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TSUNAMI AFFECTED VILLAGES OF CUDDALORE

- Children’s parks in all the villages (approximate
cost Rs.1 lakh – 2 sets of swings, 2 sets of see-saws,
climbers, 2 sets of slides, merry-go rounds, parallel bars,
etc.)
- Community Halls in the villages (Rs. 5 – 8 Lakhs)
- Community toilets in the affected villages (Rs.3 Lakhs per
village)
- Fish drying Yard (cement floor) @ Rs. 2 Lakh per village
- High Mast Lights in the coastal areas
- Community rooms with TV sets and Radios for the dissemination
of information in the event of natural disasters.
- Cement roads in the villages ( Rs. 1000/- per meter)
- Equipments for the government Hospitals to handle such emergencies.
- Plantation of trees along the coast line and the maintenance
of trees for the next six months.
- Sponsorship for street light infrastructure in the villages
(Rs. 1 lakh per village)
- Buying of land for the permanent housing and community assets
in rural areas.
- Reclamation of land degraded by sea water intrusion.
- Anganwadi buildings with play materials.
- Play materials in schools for the traumatized Children.
(Indoor games like – Carroms, Ludo, Chess etc. out door
games - Kho-Kho posts etc.)
