| We wish to walk our REACHOUT STUDENTS through their educational needs to the point when they become a graduate. Over the years, we found out that, although the parents of these children want to educate them, they find it a struggle as their child reaches the higher classes. At this point, there are several drop outs as these children go to work to substitute the family income. It is at this juncture; we step in and take on the burden of their education, so that the child can complete his or her education without any hiccups. Another cross road these children face is at the time of admissions into colleges. Here also they need to pay a minimum of Rs. 25,000 - Rs. 30,000 to complete one year of graduation. Thereby they need to spend at least a lakh to become a graduate. At this point Reachout's intervention help them sail smoothly over these three or four years. Side by side, we help them speak fluent English by putting them on to spoken English classes. We also have our vision to start free computer training and secretarial courses, for these children to ensure that they receive a good job, the moment they finish their college. As of today, we are happy to say that we have around 200 children in our rolls. Eleven of our children have become graduates and one of them has even started his career. It has taken us nine years to do so little. There are thousands of children who need our help, so we appeal to every hand who could in anyway help us, to bring as many children as possible into the circle of education. |
