The recent project of Reachout was that of providing new school
bags for poor children in a far away Tea estate at Kerala. They
were the children of coolie workers for whom even the smallest
gesture of sympathy was like a ray of sunshine. Here there were
around 130 children.
On the 14th of January, 2005, a group of Sabarimala Pilgrims
volunteered to carry these bags up the hill to the Tea Estate.
They distributed these bags there and as per their feed back
the children were greatly delighted with them. They found the
bags very colourful and immediately wore them on their backs
and posed for the photographs. Their broad smiles and happy
faces made our day for us and we hope to help them out in other
ways too in the near future.
